Claw Machine Store | OHYO Fun North York

Coloured Miffy and bunny Kirby

OHYO Fun is located in the lower level of Empress Walk (now Riocan Empress) 5095 Yonge St, North York, ON M2N 6Z4 and is a great activity to do after getting some food in North York. It has become a regular place my friends and I visit to have fun playing claw games and winning cute prizes while in the area.

They have a variety of machines filled with different characters, and based on my cute scale they are prizes worth winning. ๑(◕‿◕)๑ I am quite picky about what plush friends I bring home and the toys they have here are cute but also good quality. They also have figurines and other arcade games for you to win smaller prizes like keychains. The majority of machines use 4 tokens, and the smaller ones use 2-3.

The staff here have always been very nice. If you ask them to rearrange a machine so the prize you want is sitting in a better position they will happily change it for you. There is also no strict rule on getting the exact plush you grab. You are free to exchange it with any other plush within the same machine.

It’s also not too difficult to win prizes. Though it highly depends on the plush and maybe your luck. From my experience we would win a prize maybe 1 out of 4 tries on a good day.

There have been quite a few changes in how they use their space, there used to be a collectable shops but that section has since been closed. This visit there was a new carnival game.

Rainbow Coin Toss game rules

Rainbow Coin Toss.

This was actually a very difficult game. But it lets you try something different from the claw games. It only requires one coin so you can decide how many coins you want to dedicate to it. The aim of the game is to toss a coin onto the table and have it stop perfectly in the rainbow colour. The coin isn’t even allowed to touch the lines???? We tried and failed miserably. But if you do get it in the rainbow you can win some large prizes.

Gift Exchange wall

At the end of our visit my friend wanted an avocado Hello Kitty in the Gift Exchange section of the store. So we traded in our two winnings that day. Each plush from the machines can be traded and are worth 2 tickets. This specific Hello Kitty was required 4 tickets. The Gift Exchange area of the store is filled with lots of merch of different characters, not only plushies. This includes merch for pokemon, nintendo, and many different collectables.

MEMBERSHIP DEAL

One of the reasons I frequent here is because I own a membership! You get a membership card when you make a purchase of $100 or more. My friends and I decided to pitch in for a membership card and have been using it for over a year now. There is also an 80 tokens benefit on the week of your birthday!

Perks include discounted prices on more coin purchases, but the best perk is the free 15 coins you can get added to your membership every month. You do have to come in and claim the coins, but you just drop by the desk and ask them to add this month’s coins. They don’t make you use them right away. Since I was living in North York I would go over every month to collect coins, and when my friends came to visit I always had at least 15 coins or more to play some games.

After registering with them you make a passcode to use at their coin dispenser. Each visit you can click how many coins to dispense. Then when you’re done you can tap your card on their counter machine and return the coins to your account. Any prizes you trade in to get tickets for bigger prizes will also be saved on your card.

They also opened a new location Downtown called OHYO Spree on 340 Yonge Street Toronto, ON M5B 1R8.

So if you like claw machines and plushies like me, you’ll definitely enjoy OHYO!
